Estimator/Project Manager

Develops new prospects and interacts with existing customers to increase sales of Company’s products. Forecasts project costs.  Gathers details and compiles data to estimate all production costs according to specifications. Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, labor and transportation for estimations. Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints. Oversees and coordinates flow/progress of Company’s in-process fabrication and erection projects. Communicates directly with contractors/designers concerning project specifications, costs, and scheduling. Prepares project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.  Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, cost-estimating and/or project management, preferably in the structural steel fabrication/erection or construction industries OR equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

 


Detailer

Uses SDS/2, CAD and conventional drafting methods to prepare erection and shop drawings from approved architectural plans to guide personnel in shop fabrication and field erection of structural steel components.  Ensures compliance of finished drawings with all established industry standards and protocols (per AISC, AWS, etc.).  Will, generally, submit completed drawings to the engineer and/or architect of-record for review, prior to release of drawings to fabrication and erection personnel. May perform field measuring and site-evaluation tasks, as necessary.  May confer and coordinate work with architects, engineers, general- and/or sub-contractors, shop fabrication and/or field erection staff/management personnel, and project management staff.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Position requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in CAD/conventional drafting, project management, or data processing, preferably in the structural steel fabrication/erection or construction industries OR equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

 


Fitter/Welder

Assembles, fits and welds together structural and miscellaneous steel from shop drawings.  Must be proficient in the full skills of the trade; perform shop math; and able to understand, maintain, and operate shop equipment.  Moves material to and from work area. Must pass AWS welder qualification tests or have current certifications.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year experience preferably in the structural steel fabrication or construction industries OR equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

 


Machine Operator

Operate, understand, and program shop equipment.  Maintain and clean equipment as required. Able to read drawings; properly mark and stamp material; and perform shop math.  Moves material to and from work area.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year experience preferably in the structural steel fabrication or construction industries OR equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
